Ο Γενικός Διευθυντής του Μουσείου Ακρόπολης, Καθ. Νικόλαος Χρ. Σταμπολίδης είχε την χαρά χθες Τετάρτη 4 Οκτωβρίου 2022 να υποδεχθεί και να ξεναγήσει στους εκθεσιακούς χώρους τον ηθοποιό John Malkovich.
Εντυπωσιασμένος από το αρχαίο ελληνικό κάλλος, ο John Malkovich περιηγήθηκε στα σπουδαιότερα έργα του Μουσείου ακούγοντας με προσοχή και κάνοντας ουσιαστικές ερωτήσεις για την ιστορία των εκθεμάτων. Έδειξε ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον για την σχέση των έργων της αρχαίας τέχνης με την κοινωνία που τα παρήγαγε. Ποιό ήταν το κοινωνικό υπόβαθρο πίσω από την δημιουργία κάθε έργου τέχνης; Τι φανερώνει για την σκέψη των αρχαίων η στάση του «Παιδιού του Κριτίου», σε αντίθεση με αυτήν του «Μοσχοφόρου»; Παρατήρησε από κοντά τον γλυπτό διάκοσμο του Παρθενώνα και κατά την περιήγησή του στην ανατολική ζωφόρο, αναφέρθηκε στον ωραίο δρόμο που άνοιξε η επιστροφή του «θραύσματος Fagan» στο Μουσείο Ακρόπολης για το θέμα της επανένωσης των γλυπτών του Παρθενώνα.
Acropolis Museum General Director, Prof. Nikolaos Chr. Stampolidis had the pleasure to welcome and give a tour to the actor John Malkovich on Wednesday 4 October 2022. Impressed by ancient Greek beauty, John Malkovitch visited the Museum’s highlight exhibits; he listened carefully and asked meaningful questions about the history of the exhibits. He showed special interest in the relationship between works of ancient art and the society they were produced in. What were the social circumstances during the creation of each work of art? What does the stance of the sculpture of the “Kritios Boy” reveal about the thoughts of ancient Greeks, in comparison to that of the “Calf-bearer”? John Malkovitch took a close look at the sculptural decoration of the Parthenon and, as he was touring the east frieze of the Parthenon, he highlighted the great step that has been made in the right direction with the return of the “Fagan fragment” to the Acropolis Museum regarding the issue of the reunification of the Parthenon sculptures.
